The Bible moment
Genesis 45:25–28 describes the brothers returning from Egypt to Jacob in Canaan. They tell him that Joseph is alive and is ruler over Egypt. At first, Jacob is stunned and does not believe their report. Then he sees the wagons Joseph sent to carry provisions, and his spirit revives. Jacob says he will go and see Joseph before he dies. This passage ends with Jacob’s renewed resolve; it does not describe the journey or the reunion. The wagons and supplies show Joseph’s care for his family during the famine and help Jacob recognize that the brothers’ message is true.
