The Bible moment
Genesis 19:1–3 describes two angels arriving at Sodom. Lot is sitting at the city gate when he sees them, recognizes them, bows, and urges them to stay at his house. He brings them into his home and prepares a meal for them. This scene follows Abraham’s conversation with the LORD about the coming judgment of Sodom and Gomorrah. The passage identifies the visitors simply as two angels; it does not give them names. This page focuses only on their arrival and Lot’s welcome, not on the later events at the house or the destruction of the cities.
