Abraham Welcomes Three Visitors

Genesis 18:1-15

The LORD appears to Abraham by the oaks of Mamre while Abraham sits at his tent entrance. Abraham welcomes three men, offers them water and food, and stands nearby while they eat. One visitor announces that Sarah will have a son at the appointed time, “at this time next year.” Sarah, listening at the tent entrance, laughs inwardly because she and Abraham are old. The LORD questions her laughter and declares that nothing is too difficult for the LORD. Sarah denies laughing because she is afraid, but the LORD says that she did laugh.
