Jesus Is Arrested and Tried
Luke 22:47–23:25
In Luke’s account, Jesus is arrested after Judas approaches with a crowd and identifies him with a kiss. Jesus heals the high priest’s servant, is taken to the high priest’s house, denied by Peter, mocked, and questioned by the council. He is then brought before Pilate and Herod. Although Pilate and Herod find no basis for condemning him, the assembly demands Jesus’ death, and Pilate hands him over to their will while releasing Barabbas.
