Jesus in the Temple as a Boy
At age twelve, Jesus travels with Mary and Joseph to Jerusalem for Passover. After the festival, he remains in Jerusalem without his parents knowing. They search for him for one day among relatives and acquaintances, then return to Jerusalem and find him after three days in the temple, sitting among the teachers, listening and asking questions. Those who hear him are amazed at his understanding and answers. Jesus says he must be in or about his Father’s affairs, but his parents do not understand. He returns to Nazareth with them, remains obedient, and grows in wisdom, stature, and favor with God and people.
