Isaac Is Born
The LORD does for Sarah as he had spoken: Sarah conceives and bears Abraham a son at the set time God had spoken. Abraham names the son Isaac and circumcises him when he is eight days old, as God commanded. Abraham is one hundred years old when Isaac is born. Sarah says God has made laughter for her, that everyone who hears will laugh with her, and marvels that she has nursed a son in Abraham’s old age.
