New Testament · Acts 3:1-26

Peter Heals a Man at the Temple

At the temple gate called Beautiful, Peter and John meet a man who has been unable to walk from birth and who asks them for money. Peter says he has no silver or gold, but commands him in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth to walk. Peter takes him by the right hand and raises him up; the man’s feet and ankles become strong. He enters the temple with Peter and John, walking, leaping, and praising God. The people recognize him and are filled with wonder. Peter explains that the man was healed through faith in Jesus’ name, not by Peter’s own power or godliness, and calls the people to repent and turn to God.
