Jesus Is Risen
Matthew 28:1-20 records that Mary Magdalene and the other Mary visit Jesus’ tomb after the Sabbath. An angel announces that Jesus has risen and instructs them to tell his disciples. Jesus meets the women and sends them to tell his brothers to go to Galilee. The guards report to the chief priests, who spread a false explanation for the missing body. In Galilee, Jesus appears to his disciples, declares his authority, commands them to make disciples of all nations, baptize them, teach them to obey his commands, and promises to be with them always.
