Stephen serves the growing church, speaks with wisdom and power, gives a defense before the council recounting God’s dealings with Israel and Israel’s resistance to God’s messengers, sees Jesus standing at God’s right hand, and is killed by stoning while praying for forgiveness. Saul approves of his death.
