New Testament · Luke 1:5–25; 57–80

Zechariah and Elizabeth

Elizabeth gave birth to a son. When relatives and neighbors expected him to be named after his father, she said his name would be John. Zechariah confirmed the name on a writing tablet, and then his speech returned and he praised God. Some translations call him Zacharias. This printable focuses on Luke 1:57–64. Read the surrounding passage with children to place the scene in the wider account.
