The Bible moment
Acts 3:1-26 tells how Peter and John met a man who had been unable to walk from birth. He asked them for money, but Peter said he had no silver or gold. Instead, Peter told him to walk in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Peter took the man by the right hand and raised him up. His feet and ankles became strong, and he stood, walked, and entered the temple with Peter and John, walking, leaping, and praising God. The people were amazed because they recognized him. Peter explained that the healing came through faith in Jesus’ name, not through Peter’s own power or godliness. He pointed the people toward Jesus and called them to repent and turn back to God. The passage also recalls God’s promises spoken through the prophets.
