The Bible moment
Acts 3:17–21 records Peter’s words after a man unable to walk from birth was healed at the temple. Peter explained that the healing happened through faith in Jesus’ name, not through Peter’s own power or godliness. At Solomon’s Portico, Peter told the people that they and their rulers had acted in ignorance, while God fulfilled what he had spoken through the prophets about Christ’s suffering. Peter called them to repent and turn back to God so their sins might be wiped away and times of refreshing might come from the Lord. He also spoke of Jesus, whom heaven must receive until the restoration of all things. The passage does not give a timetable or describe a specific earthly setting for those future events.
