The Bible Story

Peter Heals a Man at the Temple

Acts 3:6-8 tells how Peter spoke to a man who had been unable to walk from birth. Peter said he had no silver or gold, but told him to walk in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Peter took him by the right hand and raised him up. The man’s feet and ankles became strong. He stood, walked, and entered the temple with Peter and John, walking, leaping, and praising God. The passage presents this healing as happening through faith in Jesus’ name, not through Peter’s own power or godliness. This moment shows compassion toward someone in need, joyful praise, and Peter’s pointing people away from human power and toward Jesus.
