The Bible moment
Daniel 3:13–18 describes Nebuchadnezzar questioning Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego after they refused to worship the gold statue. He gives them another opportunity and warns them about the blazing furnace. They answer that their God is able to rescue them, but they will not serve the king’s gods or worship the statue even if rescue does not come. Their response shows faithful worship of God rather than an idol and courage under pressure. The larger account in Daniel 3 says they are thrown into the furnace, yet they are later found unharmed. Nebuchadnezzar sees four figures walking in the fire, and the three men come out without injury. The passage presents their faithfulness regardless of the outcome and God’s power to save and presence with his people.
