The Bible moment
Daniel 3 tells how Nebuchadnezzar commanded people to worship a large gold statue when they heard music. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refused because they would not worship the statue or serve the king’s gods. They said God was able to rescue them, but they would remain faithful even if rescue did not come. Nebuchadnezzar ordered them into a furnace heated seven times more than usual. In the fire, he saw four men walking unbound and unharmed. The three men came out without injury, and Nebuchadnezzar praised their God.
