Old Testament · 2 Kings 5:1-19

Naaman Is Healed

Naaman, commander of the army of Aram, has a skin disease. A captive Israelite girl tells Naaman’s wife that the prophet in Samaria could heal him. Naaman goes to the king of Israel and then to Elisha. Elisha instructs him, through a messenger, to wash seven times in the Jordan River. Naaman is initially angry but follows the instruction and is healed. He acknowledges that there is no God in all the earth except in Israel and asks for permission concerning his service to the king of Aram.
