The Bible Story

Daniel in the Lions’ Den

Daniel 6:10-13 says that Daniel learned about the king’s signed decree but continued his regular practice of praying three times each day. He prayed at the upstairs windows of his house, facing Jerusalem. The administrators and satraps watched him and found him praying and asking God for help, then reported this to King Darius. The passage presents Daniel as steady and faithful, not as someone looking for trouble. His prayer habit continued even when a new royal law made prayer dangerous. This scene belongs within the larger account of Daniel 6: Daniel had been serving faithfully in the kingdom, and his opponents were looking for a reason to accuse him. The image should focus only on the prayer scene described in verses 10–13. It should not supply the words or subject of Daniel’s prayers, since the supplied passage does not give them here.
