The Bible Story

Jesus Heals a Blind Man at Bethsaida

Mark 8:22–26 tells how people brought a blind man to Jesus at Bethsaida and asked Jesus to touch him. Jesus led him outside the village. The man’s sight returned in two stages: first, he saw people who looked like trees walking around; then Jesus laid His hands on the man’s eyes again. The man looked intently, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly. Jesus then sent him home and told him not to enter the village. The passage presents the man’s blindness respectfully and does not connect it with wrongdoing or personal fault. This account highlights Jesus’ compassionate care, patient restoration, and healing. It also records the man following Jesus’ specific instruction at the end. Keep this account distinct from other Gospel healings and avoid adding motives, medical explanations, or reactions not stated in Mark 8:22–26.
