The Bible moment
Acts 3:9–11 describes what happened after Peter took the man by the right hand and raised him up in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. The man, who had been unable to walk from birth, became strong in his feet and ankles. He entered the temple walking, leaping, and praising God. The people saw him and recognized him as the man who had formerly sat at the Beautiful Gate asking for gifts. They were filled with wonder and amazement. The man held on to Peter and John, and the people gathered with them at Solomon’s Portico. This account directs attention toward God and Jesus rather than human power.
