The Bible moment
Matthew 28:18–20 describes the risen Jesus meeting the eleven disciples on the mountain in Galilee. They worship him, though some doubt. Jesus declares that all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to him. He commands the disciples to make disciples of all nations, baptize them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and teach them to obey everything he commanded. Jesus promises to be with them always, to the end of the age. This passage presents a worldwide mission and Jesus’ continuing presence with his followers.
