The Bible moment
Luke 24:33-35 says that the two disciples got up and returned to Jerusalem. There they found the eleven and those gathered with them. The group had heard that Simon had seen the Lord. Cleopas and the unnamed disciple then reported what had happened on the road and how Jesus was recognized in the breaking of bread. This scene belongs to the account of Jesus’ resurrection as reported in the conversation. Luke does not give the content of the gathering’s wider conversation here, and Simon’s report is mentioned rather than narrated. The focus is on the two travelers sharing their own experience with the gathered disciples.
