Bible story
Crossing the Red Sea
Exodus 14:1-31
The LORD leads Israel to encamp by the sea, where Pharaoh pursues with horses, chariots, horsemen, and an army. Israel is afraid, but Moses tells the people to stand firm and see the LORD’s salvation. The LORD divides the sea through Moses’ outstretched hand, and Israel crosses on dry ground with walls of water on both sides. The Egyptians pursue into the sea; when Moses stretches out his hand again, the waters return and cover the pursuing forces. The LORD saves Israel, and Israel sees the Egyptians dead on the seashore, fears the LORD, and trusts the LORD and Moses.
