Bible story
Gideon’s Three Hundred
Judges 6:11–7:25
God calls Gideon to deliver Israel from Midian. After Gideon obeys God by tearing down Baal’s altar, God confirms and strengthens him, then reduces Israel’s force from 32,000 to 300 men so Israel cannot claim the victory. Through a nighttime surprise using trumpets, jars, and torches, God throws the Midianite camp into confusion. Midian flees, and Israel pursues; Ephraim captures Oreb and Zeeb, who are killed at named locations.
