The Bible Story

Peter Heals a Man at the Temple

Acts 3:1-26 tells how Peter and John went to the temple at prayer time and met a man unable to walk from birth. He asked them for money. Peter said he had no silver or gold, but told him to walk in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Peter took his right hand and raised him. The man’s feet and ankles became strong, and he entered the temple walking, leaping, and praising God. The people recognized him and were amazed. Peter explained that the healing came through faith in Jesus’ name, not through Peter’s own power or godliness. He pointed the people to Jesus and called them to repent and turn back to God.
