Bible moment
The Bible moment
Acts 6:8–10 describes Stephen as full of grace and power, doing great wonders and signs among the people. Members of several synagogues debated with him, but they could not withstand the wisdom and Spirit with which he spoke. This passage does not explain what the wonders and signs were, so they should not be specified. Stephen had been recognized for service within the growing church, but he was not one of the apostles. His faithful witness took place in Jerusalem, where he spoke in synagogues. The passage presents his wisdom and faithful speech without giving a debate transcript or describing physical aggression.
